The Experience – Reservation Required

“You have to taste a culture to understand it”

~ Deborah Cater

Never was this more true than in Mexico. Mexican food was the first cuisine in the world to be categorised by UNESCO as an ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’.

An evening in El Chile Gordo is not just a meal – it’s a complete experience designed to delight your senses. We take you on a gastronomic tour of Mexican comida with an explanation of the regional differences. Plus you have the privilege of sitting at the chef’s only table, with a view into the open kitchen.

What You Need To Know Before Booking

We have one large table inside the restaurant.

We seat 3 small groups (a maximum of 6 people) or one big group of maximum 8 people.
The sitting is at 7pm.

We serve a tasting MENU – there is no a la carte.

Young Children (Under 8)

Since we started with the shared table experience, we have seen that it’s difficult for parents to enjoy the evening when preoccupied with tending to their children. It can also dampen the experience for other diners at the shared table in this extremely intimate and convivial setting. Whilst we love having children in our home, we really want this experience to be fantastic for everyone who visits us.

As such, we recommend that the evening is most enjoyable for families with young children in a private dining situation. (Private dining is for groups of 5+ menus.)

Dogs

As our kitchen is open, it is not possible to have dogs within the restaurant.
